Week 7 - I'm Pretty Sure Stuff Happened - September 6, 2025 - MTC
Everything feels like it has melted together in the MTC, but honestly I'd say that is not a bad thing. Now everything is spiritually uplifting even in Japanese!
Highlights:
-Volleyball (I'm not good but neither is Elder Hanson)
-Reciting the First Vision to Sister Hanson's district (definitely not embarrassing)
-Mini Christmas (cookies from grandma and chips and salsa from my aunt)
Not highlights:
-Seiza (ouch)
-The dish return room (It's actually atrocious)
-The MTC ran out of cream cheese (sad)
I almost finished the Book of Mormon this week (since restarting at the MTC) and every time I'm always in awe of the incredible power of this book. To be completely honest, I don't understand how people can say that this book isn't true.
One of my favorite gospel related brain candy I've sucked on this week is the sequence of events of the Restoration. What came before the revelation of the Three Kingdoms of Glory? Before temple work for the dead? Or even temples, or the Priesthood? The Book of Mormon. What does that say about how Heavenly Father views the importance of this book? The Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the gospel necessary for us to receive Salvation. How wonderful is that! There is no substitute for how clearly and powerfully the Book of Mormon teaches of Christ. It is written for our day!
In one of our devotionals we got to discuss a small portion of why the Book of Mormon is special, and one of the coolest things we talked about is how in all 540ish pages of the Book of Mormon there are only 8 pages that aren't written by or abridged by someone who hasn't personally seen the pre mortal, mortal, or resurrected Christ. How wonderful is that! (again).
I love this book with all my heart, and if you haven't read it yet, please give it a chance to change your life. Give it a try! There is nothing sweeter than the love of our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. It is something that must be experienced personally, and I promise this book will invite the Spirit of God into your life.
