Week 23 - January 1, 2026
This week was yet another roller coaster of ups and downs, but we somehow got permission to go to Asakusa with some members (please look it up) which was so awesome. All things aside, if you haven't read President Faust's, "The Refiner's Fire" talk I highly recommend it. I know the furnace of affliction is a great place to be, but sometimes it feels like I'm the one starting all the fires haha. Trying to learn from my mistakes!
Highlights:
-Got to help take down the giving machines!
-Had a church osouji event (deep cleaning event)
-Met some AWESOME referrals (so excited)
-Lots of rejection
-Went to Asakusa (shoutout to the Nakazawa family)
-Met Frank! (member in Sister Wardle's mission)
-Finished an incredible year!
READ THIS PART
As I alluded earlier this week has been spent with a lot of time on my knees. There are so many aspects of trying to be a minister of the restored gospel that frankly, I'm not good at! The Lord has made it very clear to me that experience doesn't matter in the work of the Lord, but as I try to silence my fears and rely on him, I'm coming up short!
But I am not alone
That's the most beautiful, incredible, wonderful part of my calling, and any calling in fact, is that we are not asked to do it alone! Of course we will fall short because we are not perfect! Yet
In the Savior's own words, "Behold, I will go before you and be your rearward; and I will be in your midst, and you shall not be confounded."
Imagine if this wasn't true!
I have felt stronger now than ever before how desperately I need the redeeming power of him who overcame the world, experienced every mortal heartache and pain, and provided a way for us to live in the presence of our loving Heavenly Father again. Jesus Christ!
This year is yet another opportunity to build habits that push us to be more converted, consistent disciples of Christ! And if anyone is reading this that is wondering whether or not to start on that path I only have one thing to say: I am so happy living the doctrine of Christ!
Love all of you guys! Happy New Year!
Elder Wardle
