Week 38 - April 14, 2026 - Koiwa

This might have been one of the best weeks of my time in Japan before, while also setting a new record for the amount of "no"s I have received!

Highlights:
-my bike broke, and got fixed!
-Was able to visit an inactive member in the hospital with the member who received baptism on the same day as him!
-Exchanges with the ZLs! (I got aisuru Elder Simmons)
-Found a new teaching friend!
-General Conference (12 visitors came and all got to watch it again haha)
-Got to sing with Brother Hosoya again! (He is the most Christ-like person I may have ever met)

READ THIS PART

Alma 38:12

Use boldness, but not overbearance; and also see that ye bridle all your passions, that ye may be filled with love; see that ye refrain from idleness.

I began to recognize with Elder Simmons that I have been "trying too hard." Not with effort, but by letting my desires to be the 'best missionary' distract myself from others.

Simply, I am learning what it means to "bridle all your passions, that ye may be filled with love."

I am weak. It feels like I only have five loaves and two fishes to feed thousands of people.

My desire to be the one to 'feed thousands' distracted me from why I am weak.

Ether 12:27

And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

Jesus Christ has risen! He overcame all human weakness, on an individual level, alone so that we never have to! We can 'relax' I give ourselves to Christ, "bridle all our passions," and be filled with love

As we simply love others, respecting their choices the same way that Christ did, our weakness are swallowed up in Christ, and he can feed thousands!

As we turn outwards and focus on the needs of others, it allows us to learn little by little how to better manage our demands, and feel joy no matter what circumstances we are in.

I love you guys! Don't forget to love each other!

Elder Wardle
